2Life Names Lizbeth Heyer President and CEO, Pledges Resident Advocacy

2Life Communities announced that Lizbeth Heyer took over as President and CEO on October 2, succeeding Amy Schectman, who retired after 16 years. The nonprofit says it serves more than 2,100 residents at 12 properties across seven Massachusetts campuses; Heyer has worked there since 2014 and helped develop, acquire, and modernize more than 1,000 subsidized apartments.

In the announcement, 2Life says resident advocacy will be central to the new CEO’s priorities. It also credits Heyer with helping develop Opus Newton, a middle-income CCRC that the organization says reached full occupancy in its first year.
