CCRC Staffing Indicators Move Closer to Pre-Pandemic Norms
The 2026–2027 CCRC Salary & Benefits Report from Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service, published with LeadingAge, points to continued improvement in workforce stability. The study covers 495 participating CCRCs and more than 90,190 employees, with data effective March 1, 2026.
Dining-services turnover fell from 54.48% in 2022 to 40.87% in 2026, while vacancy rates declined from 15.30% in 2023 to 12.05% in 2026. Sign-on bonuses were reported by 50.23% of participating communities in 2026, down from 64.19% in 2023. Pay increases remained around 4%: chef/kitchen-manager wages rose 4.73% in 2026, compared with 4.27% in 2025. Lower turnover may support more consistent service, although it does not eliminate staffing or wage pressures. Which workforce indicators would you like your community to report regularly?
