We did this last year at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, Florida. It was first offered as an option to current residents in independent living. I believe that it was either 15 meals OR $225 per resident per month. It was well advertised in advance and, after the usual grumbling that happen with any change, was very well received. It did of course require a contract change and agreement by the resident. The monthly allowance per person goes up each year by the same % as the increase in the resident maintenance fee. We are allowed to carry up to a total of $30 per resident forward at the end of the month.
As with most changes, it requires a lot of work, but in the opinion of the vast majority or my fellow residents, is well worth the effort. It really helps if it is started as an option!!
